Corn Bread

Your basic cornbread.



Preheat oven to 425 degrees.  Mix dry ingredients.

Dry Ingredients

Cut in the butter.  Mix egg and milk in a separate container.  Slowly add liquids to dry mixture and combine with minimal strokes.  You want the cornbread to be coarse and textured, not smooth and "processed."  Bake in a greased 9x9x2 pan for 20 minutes or until your tester comes out dry.


For variety, add chopped jalapenos, cheddar cheese, frozen corn kernals or pecans to the batter to give the corn bread a twist.
